The collectibles market has witnessed a historic transaction with the sale of Logan Paul's PSA 10-graded "Pikachu Illustrator" card for $16.5 million, setting a new Guinness World Record. AJ Scaramucci, son of financier Anthony Scaramucci, secured the card after a fierce bidding war. Paul, who purchased the card for $5.28 million in 2021, stands to net a profit between $8 million and $11 million.

Only 39 copies of the card were ever produced, with Paul's specimen being the sole one to achieve a perfect PSA 10 grade. The sale, however, has been marred by allegations of insider trading. Blockchain analysts identified a wallet that placed $190,000 in bets predicting the card WOULD sell for over $10 million, $12 million, and $15 million—just days before the auction closed. The wallet profited over $300,000 when the final price hit $16.5 million, raising suspicions of privileged information.
